7D6n VOLUNTEER FOR SEA TURTLES TIOMAN, Malaysia
VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:
Always wanted to Volunteer at a Wildlife Sanctuary but not sure where to go? Just in Tioman, Malaysia - is a small, humble Turtle Conservation Centre where you can get involved!
For a week help to Patrol the Beach for Nesting Turtles, Learn about Sea Turtle Conservation, and release any Baby Sea Turtles that may hatch during your stay.
HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION:
Please note that for this Volunteer experience we are required to stay in a Hostel style of accommodation at the Turtle Centre. This is so that if any Turtle activity occurs at night, as volunteers we will be able to quickly respond to it.

Day 1
Travel to Tioman (Private Car + Ferry)
Transfer to Turtle Conservation Centre
Get to know fellow Volunteers on the trip
Day 2 - 6
Volunteer Orientation
Learn more about Sea Turtle Conservation
Daily Volunteer Activities (Half Day)
may include Patrolling the Beach for
Nesting Mother Turtles *
Boat Patrols at Remote Beaches
Relocating Sea Turtle Eggs to the Hatchery * Releasing Sea Turtle Hatchlings *
Collecting Data on the Nesting Turtles / Hatchlings * Nest Excavation *
Sharing what you've learnt to Walk In Visitors Participating in Beach Clean Up or Recycling Activities Helping out at the Animal / Cat Welfare Centre Helping with Gardening, Maintenance
Computer work like organising data, making graphs Making new information board
* Subject to Wildlife appearances / hatchings which are not able to be guaranteed.
What we can assure you is that we conduct this trip only during the ideal / peak season of June, July & August.
Day 7
Return Journey to Singapore
Recreational Activities (Half Day)
Swimming / Snorkelling
Kayaking
Local dinner in the village
Jungle Trekking to the Waterfall / Viewpoint
May be possible to arrange at Additional Cost
- Diving (Fun Dive for Licensed Divers)
- Half Day Experience Diving (For Non Licensed individuals who would like to experience what Diving is like, conducted by Professional Dive School PADI or SSI)

It is common that hatchings or nestings occur at odd hours in the middle of the night.
Volunteers may be awakened or notified to watch / assist in the hatching / relocation of eggs or release of Baby Sea Turtles
